Oasis at Allianz Arena: Munich History and the 2027 Shows
Based on the concert archives and venue records reviewed for this article, we could not verify an earlier Oasis performance at Allianz Arena. That is a qualified finding, not an absolute proof of absence, but it is strong: the arena opened in 2005, it was not used as a full concert venue until 2025, Oasis split in 2009 and did not return as a band until 2025, and the Munich shows found for 2005 to 2009 were at Zenith, not Allianz Arena.

The venue and its history
Allianz Arena was built between 2003 and 2005, with a groundbreaking on 21 October 2002. It opened on 30 May 2005 with a friendly between Bayern Munich and TSV 1860 Munich. The architects were Herzog and de Meuron with ArupSport, and the reported cost was 340 million euros.
Bayern Munich have been tenants since 2005, and TSV 1860 Munich were tenants from 2005 to 2017. The Germany national team has also played selected matches there. The stadium's inflated ETFE plastic panels form a full colour-changing exterior, glowing red for Bayern, blue for 1860 and white for Germany. Panel counts in secondary sources conflict, at 2,874 in most summaries and 2,784 in one, so no panel count is published here until the official arena figure is checked.
Major football events include the 2006 FIFA World Cup, including the opening match between Germany and Costa Rica, the 2012 UEFA Champions League final, UEFA Euro 2020 matches played in 2021, UEFA Euro 2024 and the 2025 UEFA Champions League final.
The concert era is the key Munich angle. The arena was a football stadium first and only became a regular large concert venue in 2025, while Munich Olympiastadion is under renovation until 2028. Guns N' Roses played the first full concert at Allianz Arena on 20 June 2025. Linkin Park had played a shorter Kick Off Show performance before the 2025 Champions League final, which is not the same as a full concert and must not be described as one.
Oasis at Allianz Arena
No verified Oasis performance at Allianz Arena before Live '27 was found. The archives checked were the official Oasis live list for 1996, setlist.fm Oasis venue searches for Munich, Concert Archives Munich listings, and the Allianz Arena concert list, which starts with Guns N' Roses in 2025.
The 2027 shows are therefore a first at Allianz Arena on the evidence checked, and a first stadium show for Oasis in Munich. They are not a return to this venue, and they must not be described as one. Support acts and sold-out status for 2027 are not settled in this history pass: one Olympiapark listing marks the 2 July event as sold out and names a special guest, while site data still marks all three shows as announced, so neither claim is published here as settled.
Oasis in Munich at other venues
Munich shows before 2027 happened in three different kinds of room, and none of them was Allianz Arena. Wappensaal and Terminal 1 were different halls in the same former Munich-Riem airport area, not two names for one show. The former airport halls also included Charterhalle, Zeppelinhalle and Ultraschall.
Oasis played Wappensaal in Munich-Riem Airport on 12 January 1996, on the (What's the Story) Morning Glory? era European tour. No setlist was published on the gigography page opened for that date, and no attendance figure was sourced. The gigography gives a venue capacity of 1,800, which is capacity, not attendance.
Oasis played Terminal 1, Flughafen München, on 27 March 1996, also in the former Riem airport complex. A partial setlist from setlist.fm includes The Swamp Song, Acquiesce, Supersonic, Hello, Some Might Say, Roll With It, Shakermaker, Morning Glory, Cigarettes and Alcohol, Champagne Supernova, It's Better People and Whatever, with further songs not shown in the extract. That partial list must not be published as a complete setlist.
Olympiahalle hosted Oasis on 19 November 1997, on the Be Here Now tour, with The Seahorses as support. A 17-song setlist from setlist.fm and Concert Archives extracts is listed in the research notes, but both sources are secondary, so the full order is Medium confidence only.
Zenith, full name Kulturhalle Zenith, hosted Oasis on 11 March 2003, on the Heathen Chemistry tour, and again on 27 February 2009, on the Dig Out Your Soul tour. No attendance figure was sourced for either Zenith show, and support for those shows was not established in the research pass, except where noted in the research notes.
- 12 January 1996: Wappensaal, Munich-Riem Airport
- 27 March 1996: Terminal 1, Flughafen München, former Riem airport complex
- 19 November 1997: Olympiahalle, support The Seahorses
- 11 March 2003: Zenith, rescheduled from December 2002
- 27 February 2009: Zenith
A cancelled Munich show, and its return
A Munich show scheduled for 1 December 2002 was cancelled, not completed. Reports at the time said Liam Gallagher sustained facial injuries, including broken teeth, in a fight in the disco of the Bayerischer Hof hotel in the early hours of 1 December 2002, and the Munich show scheduled for that Sunday night was cancelled, followed by Hamburg on Monday. The original Munich venue name was not named in the sources opened, so it is not guessed here as Zenith or Olympiahalle.
The German shows were rescheduled, with Munich listed for 11 March 2003 in an NME report on 28 January 2003. That rescheduled Munich show is the 11 March 2003 Zenith show above. The December 2002 cancellation and the March 2003 show must not be counted as two separate Munich performances.
Liam and Noel Gallagher solo in Munich, separately
Liam Gallagher played Tonhalle in Munich solo on 13 February 2020, on the Why Me? Why Not. tour, with Twisted Wheel listed as support in the Concert Archives listing. Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds played Tonhalle on 11 March 2012, Zenith on 14 April 2016 and Zenith again on 12 April 2018, on the Stranded on the Earth tour. None of these is an Oasis show, and none of them counts as an Oasis show at Allianz Arena. Beady Eye is neither Oasis nor a Liam solo billing, and it is not included in this solo table.
Why the 2027 shows matter
Oasis play Allianz Arena on 2, 3 and 6 July 2027, three nights. The site's own framing calls Munich the first continental European stop of the 2027 tour. That framing is about routing, not about a previous Allianz Arena show, and it must not be read as venue history.
The significance is scale and timing. Oasis return to Munich, a city they last played as a band in 2009, for a first stadium step, at a venue that only began hosting full concerts in 2025. The 2002 cancellation and 2003 return are part of the Munich lore, but they happened at other venues, and they do not make 2027 a return to Allianz Arena.
A 2027 lineup, gate times and a concert capacity for the Allianz configuration are left to separate verified coverage. Those details are covered separately once verified, and a concert capacity must come from the promoter or the arena for the 2027 configuration, not from the football capacity.
